Brenda Montecalvo, OD, FCOVD, FAAO, FCSO has provided primary care optometry to her patients in a successful cutting edge private practice setting for over 35 years. She is the author of the new book Visual Secrets for School Success. She presents the Cedarville Seminar Series for Optometric Vision Therapy (OVT), and is a passionate, sought-after international speaker in the areas of vision and learning, neuro-optometric rehabilitation (NOR), strabismus, amblyopia, OVT, prescribing of therapeutic performance lenses, preventive eye care, and practice management (PM).
She is co-author of the American Optometric Association (AOA) Brain Injury Electronic Resource Manual and has authored other articles about NOR, OVT and Practice Management.
Dr. Montecalvo is Past-Chair of the AOA Vision Rehabilitation Section (VRS) and a member of the AOA Education Committee. She is Past-President of the Ohio Optometric Association and the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association (NORA), Co-Chair of the John Streff Invitational Lens Symposium, and trustee of the Vision Leads Foundation. She has served as a Clinical Associate Professor for Western College of Optometry and The Ohio State University College of Optometry.
Dr. Montecalvo is a Fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, Fellow of the College of Syntonic Optometry, and has achieved Skill Level II in NORA. She graduated with distinction from the Pacific University College of Optometry.
Dr. Montecalvo’s interests include spending time with her three adult children, being active in her church, gardening, and operating a horse farm with her husband, Anthony.
David Cook, O.D. and his strabismus seminars are known to audiences in Canada, New Zealand, and across the United States. He has limited his practice to vision therapy for over 35 years and is a pioneer in using 3D movies in strabismus treatment. He is an OEP associate, a fellow in COVD, and a diplomate in binocular vision and perception in the American Academy of Optometry.
He served on the COVD International Exam Board for six years. His Visual Fitness, published by Berkeley Books, appeared in English, Polish and Russian. His article “Eyesight, Infinity, and the Human Heart,” won the optometric editor’s award. His When Your Child Struggles has helped thousands of patients to receive care in vision therapy practices across the United States. His latest Book "Shape of the Sky" is published by OEPF and will be discussed during the Congress
