This course will provide the attendee with a practical clinical approach to diagnose and treat the debilitating vision symptoms and dysfunctions of patients who suffered mTBI. Clinical pearls on prescribing low plus lenses, prisms, tinted lenses, and binasal occlusions will be shared. Important clinical concepts of the power of lenses and prisms on visual functions will be illustrated using patient videos.

Dr. Derek Tong graduated with Honors from the Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO) at Marshall B. Ketchum University, where he also completed residency training in Pediatric Optometry and Vision Therapy. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO), the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD), and the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association (NORA), as well as a Clinical Diplomate in Binocular Vision, Perception, Pediatric Optometry of the American Academy of Optometry. He has faculty appointments as Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of the Southern California College of Optometry and the Western University of Health Sciences. He is an active member of AAO, COVD, NORA, OEPF and current serves as Chair of the NORA Fellowship Committee. He is the Founder, Clinic Director and Residency Supervisor of the Center for Vision Development Optometry in Pasadena, California.
