The lecture will cover the definition and etiology of CVI. This will lead to a discussion of the attributes and characteristics of CVI children. An exploration of the different phases and evaluation using both Dr. Christine Roman’s and other methods followed by treatment options and methods.
Graduated Yeshiva University with a Bachelors Degree in Biology in 1969 and entered PCO in 1970. Joined OEP as a student in 1972 (soon approaching my 50th year as a member). Graduated PCO in 1974 and accepted to the first one year Residency ever in Optometry (VT) at SUNY. Stayed on as Faculty member and also completed a Masters in Psychology at Ferkauf Graduate School.

In 1979 moved to Israel and established the first VT private Practice in the country. Worked at Sheba Medical Center in addition to a private clinic for 20 years. Founding faculty member of both academic programs in Israel: Hadassah College of Optometry and Bar Ilan University School of Optometry. Established and headed the VT clinic at Bar Ilan. Published over 30 papers, authored a manual (in Hebrew) of examination procedures and invited speaker at countless international conferences. Awarded FCOVD-A status in 2007, the first (and so far only) Optometrist in Israel to be awarded Professor status by the Council on Higher Education. Currently retired from Uiversity and Private practice but now the Director of Professional Services at Eliya (network of rehab kindergartens for visually impaired infants) in addition to being the founder and current President of the COVD-Israel chapter.
