Cam shared his initial dissatisfaction with optometry and how his journey from being an OEPF Alumnus to running a successful VT practice and companies came to be. His decision to focus on the OEPF Art and Science course to the VT1-2-3 Clinical Curriculum Courses inspired him to establish his own successful VT practice. He discussed his transition from primary care to specializing in VT, and subsequently partnering with an MD and an evidence-based therapist. The conversation ended with Cam reflecting on his career growth and his current multi-disciplinary practice.
Cam discussed at length the benefits and the development and functionalities of the NeuroVisual Trainer (NVT), a platform created by his parent company, Ocudigital, in collaboration with an optometrist and a software developer. NVT is a web-based app that provides a library of vision therapy exercises and video demonstrations, which can be assigned to patients and monitored by therapists. The platform also allows doctors to build their own treatment protocols and share them with the community. Cam emphasized that the NVT is designed to empower therapists and support home-based activities, and it is not open to the public. The platform has been adopted by various institutions, including optometrist offices and universities, and is accessible worldwide.
