In this talk, participants will be given an overview of clinical color vision testing with a focus on cases of patient’s needing occupational color vision testing. This particular clinical need is often underserved and is accompanied by the need to be extra diligent about appropriate test conditions and interpretation of test results. Pitfalls in administration and interpretation area common and navigating these will be discussed as well as and clinical pearls arising from the authors own research in this area will be shared.
Dr. Jason S. Ng received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry after completing his BA degree at UC Berkeley in cell biology. He spent several years in private practice and completed a PhD in Vision Science at the UC Berkeley School of Optometry before returning to the College.

Dr. Jason S. Ng received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry after completing his BA degree at UC Berkeley in cell biology. He spent several years in private practice and completed a PhD in Vision Science at the UC Berkeley School of Optometry before returning to the College.
Dr. Ng is currently a tenured Associate Professor at the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He currently teaches in both the Doctor of Optometry program as well as in the Masters in Vision Science program, where he leads courses in visual perception, color vision, experimental design, and teaching. He has been recognized with several awards for his excellence in teaching and research, including the Chase Faculty Teaching Excellence Award and the Hemenger Faculty Research Award. Dr. Ng has co-authored many scientific papers and has presented his research at national and international vision conferences.
