This course builds on the solid foundation that is known as the CORE 4 OEPF Clinical Curriculum courses including the Art & Science, VT1, VT2 and VT3 courses. The CORE addresses the majority of the patients seen in optometric practice but lacks the specifics for how to address some specific populations. The population of patients that we are now seeing in our practices presents with some very specific demands which often include but are not limited to:
• Neglect
• Unilateral spatial inattention
• Newly acquired diplopia
• Non-concomitancies
• Sensory sensitivities
• Past-pointing
• Newly acquired cognitive challenges
• Newly acquired visual field problems, some of which are functional and some of which are neurological
