Lisa Knopp, COVT

Bio

Lisa Knopp, COVT is the Lead Vision Therapist at Hope Clinic in Bellevue and Practice Facilitator of the three Hope Clinics after a fulfilling career as an elementary school teacher and director of reading centers. She completed her BA in Education at Kean University in New Jersey and received her MA training in Education and Special Education at San Francisco State University. She is currently training to be a Neuro Change Consultant through Neuro Change Institute. She is passionate about presenting to school and parent groups about topics related to identifying and improving vision dysfunction.

Lisa is a collector of children’s books that inspire. She has recently published a rhyming red/green online storybook through Our Visual Brain titled, “See and Say, See and Say, Find It, See It, Say It, Do It!” She hopes it will be a useful tool for VTs and ODs to not only help eliminate suppression, but also teach about the power of visualization.

Lisa has two young adult sons, one who has benefited greatly from Vision Therapy at Hope Clinic. She enjoys singing alto in Master Chorus Eastside based in Issaquah, Washington, as well as painting in oils and writing.

Ted Kadet, OD, FCOVD

Bio

Ted Kadet, OD, FCOVD became the charter Optometric Physician in the founding of Hope Clinic in 1983 and continues practice as the Director of Optometry and Neuro-Optometry for three WA locations. His commitments include helping children and adults gain confidence and self-esteem with reading efficiency. His work with TBI survivors recovering useful vision distinguishes Dr. Kadet in the eye care community.

Dr. Kadet actively works with TBI patients in litigation and works actively with their attorneys. He is often retained as an expert witness in depositions and trial testimony.

Dr. Kadet is a Fellow-candidate of the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association (NORA) and a Clinical Associate of the Optometric Extension Program Foundation (OEPF). He holds membership inthe Optometric Physicians of Washington, (OPW) the American Optometric Association, (AOA). He has recently been appointed by the Governor to the Washington State Board of Optometry. Dr. Kadet is an Adjunct Professor at the College of Optometry, Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR.

Dr. Kadet has donated numerous hours of his time to the special needs community, receiving many awards while volunteering for Special Olympics as a ski coach. He started a special needs Boy Scout troop in 1996, and continues to serve as Scoutmaster. Dr. Kadet was nominated in 2002 for the Washington State Jefferson Awards for community service. He received the Jack Hale Award for service to optometry in 2022 from the Optometric Physicians of WA
