Triaging Acute Diplopia Grand Rounds

This grand rounds presentation aims to describe three cases of acute diplopia. Speakers will provide an overview of the conditions that presented with concerning signs and symptoms and discuss the key steps taken to evaluate and triage these conditions.

 

Shayda Mardi, OD

Dr. Mardi is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Binocular Vision and Sports Vision clinics at UC Berkeley. She completed her OD degree at UC Berkeley School of Optometry and stayed to complete a residency in Binocular Vision and Vision Therapy at UC Berkeley. She enjoys working with concussion/neuro-rehabpatients & patients with binocular vision related conditions to help improve their quality of life. During her free time, she enjoys going on hikes, going to concerts, trying new restaurants around the area and spending time with her friends and family.

 

Celia Yeung, OD

Dr. Yeung is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Binocular Vision Clinic. She completed her residency in Vision Therapy and Vision Rehabilitation at UC Berkeley and received her Doctor of Optometry degree at the New England College of Optometry. Her interests are in managing and treating amblyopia, strabismus as well as acquired brain injuries. In her free time, she enjoys trying new foods, spending time with her husband and pet cat, and gathering.

 

Jen Fisher, DC

Dr. Jen Fisher completed her Doctorate of Optometry at UC Berkeley and the Irwin B. Suchoff residency in vision therapy and rehabilitation at the State University of New York College of Optometry. Dr. Fisher has been clinical faculty at the Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry at UC Berkeley since 2015 and also serves as the Co-Chief of the Binocular Vision Clinic. She helps patients with learning-related vision issues, strabismus, amblyopia, and those that have suffered acquired brain injuries. She was recently awarded the COA Young Optometrist of the Year in 2022, and the Alameda Contra Costa County Young Optometrist of the Year in 2019. During her free time, she enjoys skiing, Lagree fit, and spending time with her husband and 2 young children, inspiration for interior design ideas.
