“DANNY” The Evaluation of Vision Development in the Young Child
$40.43
OEP has recently discovered a long-lost treasure in the master tape for Jerry Getman’s, “Danny: The Evaluation of Vision Development in the Young Child”. While the quality is a bit faded due to the age of the master tape, the content is excellent. “Danny” presents Jerry Getman at his finest – evaluating a child with learning-related vision problems. The video walks through a complete evaluation of Danny, a six-year old who demonstrated obvious intelligence and strong auditory and tactile abilities, but definite visual development delays. Dr. Getman discusses each segment before and after the actual testing. Using the evaluation methods described in “Techniques and Diagnostic Criteria for the Optometric Care of Children”, which he developed, Dr. Getman demonstrates the specific visual dysfunctions that will manifest as learning disabilities when Danny enters the first grade.
Getman’s evaluation techniques with children are classic. For those who never had the privilege of observing Jerry in person, this video is a must. Those who knew and worked with Jerry will learn something new with every viewing.
This invaluable video is available on DVD for the first time. Running time 55 minutes.
