This webinar explores the emerging framework of Total Load Theory and its application to neurodevelopmental disorders, learning challenges, sensory processing differences, and behavioral health concerns. Participants will examine how cumulative stressors—including genetic predispositions, environmental toxins, nutrition, immune dysfunction, trauma, sleep disruption, technology exposure, and sensory challenges—can impact neurological development and overall functioning.
Through a root-cause, systems-based perspective, attendees will learn how lifestyle, dietary, environmental, and sensory-motor interventions may reduce total physiological burden and support improved outcomes for children and adults with neurodevelopmental concerns. The course will also address the role of the microbiome, nutrigenomics, detoxification, nervous system regulation, movement, vision, vestibular function, and vagal nerve support in promoting development and resilience.
Practical strategies for reducing environmental and biological stressors will be presented, along with approaches for prioritizing interventions to maximize therapeutic effectiveness and support long-term wellness.

Patricia S. Lemer is a pioneer and an internationally recognized authority on applying a holistic model of care to autism, ADHD, learning and mental health conditions. For over fifty years she has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to identifying and ameliorating root causes rather than treat symptoms.
Ms. Lemer was the first to apply the “Total Load Theory” to neurodevelopmental disorders. This engineering concept postulates that each unique individual, like a bridge, accumulates an overload of stressors that eventually causes dysfunction.
Ms. Lemer cofounded one of the first organizations offering information online. She helped establish the first center for young adults with disabilities in Kuwait. She is the author of four books, including the award-winning Outsmarting Autism (2019) and her newest release Total Load Theory: Transforming Lives in Autism, ADHD, LD, SPD, and Mental Health (2025). She moderates the podcast “The Autism Detective” with over 100 episodes.
Patricia’s ability to weave complex concepts with practical solutions for empowering individuals of all ages has earned her the admiration of families and professionals alike.
