For Students – Tale of 2 Adaptations: Anomalous Correspondence and Implications – Dr. Prattas

Course Description

Covariation is a phenomena that occurs in patients with intermittent strabismus. It is defined as the presence of normal correspondence when the patient is aligned, and use of anomalous correspondence when the patient is strabismic to maintain a rudimentary form of binocularity. This presentation will review anomalous correspondence, covariation and present a case report in which vision therapy was utilized to manage covariation.

Dr. Vassiliki Prattas completed her optometric education at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in Fort Lauderdale, FL in 2021. She went on to pursue a Pediatrics, Vision Therapy and Visual Neuro-rehabilitation residency at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Dr. Prattas now serves as a faculty member at Nova Southeastern University.
