This lecture will discuss normal visual development and how to identify when there is a delay in this unique population. When there is a delay, we will review different treatment options and how to engage children ages 3-6 in active, in-office vision therapy with exercises and activities included!

Instructor Bio

Miki Lyn Zilnicki, O.D., F.C.O.V.D., graduated with honors from the SUNY College of Optometry in New York, receiving the VSP Excellence in Primary Care and Excellence in Vision Therapy awards. She then continued her education by completing a residency in vision therapy and rehabilitation with Dr. Barry Tannen, OD. She has extensive experience in family eye care with a specialty and passion for pediatrics, vision training and neuro-rehabilitation with traumatic brain injury patients.

She then continued her education by completing a residency in vision therapy and rehabilitation with Dr. Barry Tannen, OD. She has extensive experience in family eye care with a specialty and passion for pediatrics, vision training and neuro-rehabilitation with traumatic brain injury patients. She is an active member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and is a frequent contributing writer for Review of Optometric Business. When she is not working she is helping on her husband’s family farm and spending time with her two beautiful children, Daisy & John.
