Unraveling Visual Disturbances: A Deep Dive into Hidden Visual Dysfunction – Dr. Daniella Rutner and Dr. Marianna Butera

Course Description

Visual complaints are among the most common—and often the most misunderstood—symptoms encountered in clinical practice. From subtle binocular instabilities to complex neuro-visual disruptions, patients frequently present with issues that standard evaluations fail to fully explain.

In this engaging 90-minute session, Dr. Daniella Rutner and Dr. Marianna Butera will guide participants through the intricate mechanisms behind visual disturbances across a wide range of patient profiles. Drawing from clinical expertise, emerging research, and real-case scenarios, they will explore:

  • The many ways visual dysfunction presents beyond refractive error
  • The interconnected roles of the visual, vestibular, and proprioceptive systems
  • Key clinical signs that reveal the true origin of patient symptoms
  • Effective, evidence-based management strategies—including vision therapy and collaborative care
  • Practical tools to enhance outcomes in even the most challenging visual cases

This lecture is ideal for clinicians seeking deeper insight into the underlying drivers of visual discomfort, headaches, reading difficulties, dizziness, and post-trauma visual syndromes. Attendees will gain actionable strategies, heightened clinical awareness, and a clearer framework for evaluating complex visual presentations.

Join Dr. Rutner and Dr. Butera as they unravel the complexity of visual disturbances—and empower you to elevate patient care with greater precision and confidence.
